Nomination Criteria for the Nollywood YouTube Excellence Awards (NYEA)
The Nollywood YouTube Excellence Awards celebrate the finest achievements in Nollywood as showcased on the global platform of YouTube. To be eligible for nomination in any category, films must meet the following criteria:
- Availability on YouTube: The movie must be available for viewing on YouTube in its entirety.
- Release Date: Eligible films must have been released on YouTube between January 1, 2020, and August 31, 2024.
- Original Content: The film must be original content or an official adaptation released by the copyright holders. It should not infringe on any copyrights and must have the appropriate permissions for all copyrighted material included within the film.
- Film Length: Films of any length are eligible, including short films, feature-length films, and documentary features.
- Language and Subtitles: Films can be in any language. However, to ensure accessibility for a diverse audience, non-English films should include English subtitles.
- Compliance with YouTube Guidelines: The film must adhere to YouTube’s community and content guidelines. Films that violate these guidelines will be disqualified from consideration.
These criteria aim to ensure that the NYEA honours the best of Nollywood’s offerings on YouTube, promoting high standards and celebrating the creative talents that thrive on this dynamic platform.
